I'm really cheap, but i need a rifle for 3gun matches etc. I've decided on a hi-point. I've done lots of online research about them and feel confident that despite their ugliness they are a generally good gun. However I can't really find any info on CGN about them. Does anyone here have one? If so how do you like it. Is it reliable, is it as accurate as you could expect from a pistol round? I put a WTB on the EE but haven't heard from anyone. I'm not sure it because those that have one love them and don't want to sell them, or if it's becasue no one has one....

anyways thanks guys. When i bought my pistol i knew nothing about it and said "it's shiney i'll take it" so this time around I want to make sure i do my homework before i shell out my hard earned cash. thanks!

Because of bad triggers and questionable longevity of the cheap metal parts I won't own one. I fired my buddies and it felt real cheap. Here in the states there are much better Marlin, Colt, UZI pistol carbines available that are not restricted to only available 10 round mags.

I have to give the props to hi-point for accuracy. I had the .40 JCP and with the fixed barrels and heft, plus really good sights, I obtained just about my best accuracy ever from a handgun. I can't imagine the carbine being less accurate. The trigger on the JCP was average on my pistol, but the gun just plain shot the hell out of my other guns. Go figure. I guess thats why actual shooters don't complain about Norinco's. They just shoot too.
Even if you bought one and it crapped out after a year, no big loss. They aren't too expensive to begin with.
