I see these little 9mm carbines sell for a rather attractive price and reviews seem to be favourable. Have any of you put one of these through their paces ?

I know this is by no means a high end piece of machining but will it give trouble free function 50M accuracy. If it can pop a soda can at 50M I'm happy but if its nothing more than a spray and pray piece of plastic crap I won't bother with it.

I know the Kel-teks and JR'S are decent but this thing is close to half the cost.
 
I got one a little while back just for S&G's. Fugly as all get out BUT the ergonomics are very nice for what it is. This rig also proved to be very accurate - better then the 9mm HGs we were shooting at the same distances. We just use the same 9mm ammo with either cast or plated bullets. If I can put the dot on the target, I can hit it. Only gone out to 100yds but it is as accurate as any 9mm HG at that distance.

It is primer sensitive and I have had a few clicks with no bangs. for the life of me, I can't remember what we used cause we just loaded in bulk. I would suggest a thinner cup primer if you find that you aren't getting a bang with every shot. I believe that we have CCI SP loaded up now and it works just fine. Likely the batch that gave me grief was with WIN.

The mags that came are 5rds which is a pain but you might be able to find HG mags that fit????

for CQB shooting, I orig had a Norc m4 but it is noisy and expensive by comparison. Also, I hate chasing the AR brass in the snow. The 9mm is easily replaced so if I loose some, who cares.

With a red dot, it is fast on target, easier/quieter to use. I like the balance and have no concern with grip mag changes. I now shoot this way more then my M4 which will be turned into a service rifle where the 223 can be of better use.

Feed, function and reliability has been good except for the primer issue.

I have been shooting one in 40cal which functions perfect all times. The 40 cal comes with 10 round magazine and a 17.5" barrel. It's pretty accurate to 100m, and functions well with both CCI and Federal primers. For a $400.00 Carbine with lifetime warranty, it's a pretty good deal.

It comes with one magazine, I bought 4 extra mags for mine from Epps.

I was interested in these until I realized Kel-Tec makes a non-restricted Sub 2000 in 9mm that takes 10rd HG mags. I am looking out for the Sig 226 version, as I have tons of mags for it. A little more expensive at $599, but it's definitely reasonable. :)
