Well I bit the bullet so to speak, I bought a Hi Point pistol and carbine in 40 s&w during Prophet Rivers Black Friday sale. Took a little time to get it due to the government and their slow but steady work ethic.

Went out today to the range and had a blast!! Only 250 rounds thru them but only had one FTL in each, same ammo. Canadian BDX 165 e/TMJ
Yes they are ugly, and big. But damn they shoot nice. They do the job just fine.
I had stripped them both and cleaned them up, did a little lite filing as they are rough.
But for $199 & $349 each, you can't go wrong for a plinker.
Now I just need to get my bullets that I have ordered and then maybe can start to reload for it and a few others I have. Damn this is getting to be a expensive but fun hobby...

Happy New Years

Glad to hear you like em.

I was thinking about getting the same combo at some point... keep us updated on how it holds up with time.

I also just purchased a Hi-Point 9mm Carbine. Checked u-tube before I bought one. Great user response on reliability, accuracy, maintenance and fun to shoot. Comes with all the milspec rails you'll need plus a recoil compensator. All report great guns for the price. Haven't got to the range yet. Will keep updates on my experience with this carbine. There are accessories (mag holders/foregrips etc.) for these rifles. Any dealer in Canada have those yet?

I had the 45 cal version. It kicked way harder than you would imagine. Started to feel it in my neck after 40 rounds. Very unpleasant. Was very accurate at 50yards but at 100 I got 3 flyers out of a mag every time. Not impressed. It did function 100% all the time. I should of went with a 9mm or 40. Glad you are enjoying yours. Have fun.!!

Well out to the range again. Another 300 rounds down the range. About half were reloads.
No problems yet.
Mounted a Barska electro sight with a laser,$99 at cabelas. Once sighted in very nice on the carbine.
Fun to shoot. Handloads were hot compared to factor stuff. But very accurate
Worst thing is having to reload magazines so much. Need a little Genie to magically load them up... But then I would really go thru the ammo..
I highly recommend these for some to just have fun with. Cheap and reliable . Fun to shoot ..
