Does anyone have a good video or how to on doing a complete disassembly? Youtube wasnt very helpful. I picked up a project gun and want to take it apart and get it sent away for parkerizing.

I've never completely disassembled one, but I have the NRA book, "Firearms Assembly". If nobody tells you how, PM me with you email address and I'll photocopy the two pages with the information and send them to you.

Ahhh? Do you want your man card revoked? Look at it and start playing.

Pull the slide back, engage the thumb safety, push out the slide lever. Remove slide from frame. Remove spring and remove barrel. The firing pin is held in place by a slide "gate" on the back end. The trigger bar has a crosspin. The adjustable back sight unscrews and comes off in about 6 small pieces. The extractor can be more awkward to get at.

On the frame, hold the sear down with your thumb and push out the safety lever with the other hand. Push out the hammer pivot and remove the assembly. Jiggle out the flat spring (I forget what it does). Push out the trigger pin and remove the trigger. Never had the magazine release off.

From memory. I recall using a small hammer and a few small drift pins, using a hockey puck as a bench block. So, not many parts and they come out easily. Best design by Browning ever!

This guy used to have his videos on YouTube but has removed them. I've looked around and finally found them. This basically allowed me to do it to mine with confidence!

Have Fun!

Thanks guys. singleaction the link didnt work for me, But I have it almost completely apart, but Iam having trouble with the trigger group, the pin wont budge.

I think to get parkerized it probably has to come put. Found some issues when I took it apart aswell. The firing pin retaining plate broke when I took it put and the sear pin is bent way put of shape.

Try the link again. It seems to go up and down. Anyway that is the only part I left together. I'm pretty sure he just punches it out. Good luck.

I found pictures on a website 2 years ago. Can't remember where I saved the link, I know I was looking for to do a trigger job and replace the springs.
I ended doing the job twice because I could not get reliable firing pin strike.
search for BHP trigger job you should find what you are looking for.

you will need Snap On punch to do the job, I bended all my cheap no name punch trying to remove the trigger.

Good luck
