hi-power is back

While I agree with those who say a gun should work from the factory, from a practical view, it's easier and cheaper to replace extractor and extractor spring on SA 35 than to customize Sights, safety, hammer, and grips on a standard Mk 3 BHP.

All the more reason for Springfield to address the issue in house. Rather than making it the end user's problem. How much is a extractor and spring at the retail level? Are both readily available in Canada? Or need to be ordered from the US? Canadian retailers charge $17-$20 for shipping even for small parts. From the US in USD. See where I am going with this? Springfield should fix.

There ship has sailed hi powers are a thing of the past I am afraid

That's like saying the 1911 Colts are things of the past.

Some things just work well, no matter how old the design and if they're properly maintained, will outlive their owners.

I've got a pair of FN Herstals that I was told are Israeli Surplus. S&J rebuilt and cerakoted them and did an excellent job. In certain light you can see the different color of the slide and frame. I shoot the one with the Pachmyer grips and it's never malfunctioned and is accurate.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy the SA but I'm broke.
