I inherited this gun from my Father In Law and know nothing about it, never even knew he had it. The registration lists it as a .22 Mag however it comes with two cylinders and from basic internet research it appears one is for .22lr, short etc and one is the .22 mag cylinder. Questions I have is how to identify which is which? Neither cylinder has any markings that I can find and he doesn't recall. Also does anyone know how to switch the cylinders, as I'm not sure how to release the one mounted on the gun? Here is a photo if it helps.

Short of going out and buying some 22 Mag ammo is there a way to identify the difference? I put a .22lr shell in each cylinder and fit appeared the same at first glance. Looking online the 22 mag is a larger diameter, I'll have to check fit again obviously one was looser than the other.

A regular .22 will be a little sloppier a fit in the magnum cylinder. So the one with less slop is the regular .22 cylinder. It's not a whole lot bit it's there and you can feel and see it if you're watching for it.
