Hi, I live in Abbotsford and I am looking to get into target shooting. I have my PAL but still need to join a range and buy a hand gun. I am looking for a 9 mm preferably, something good for a beginner-a small gun would be nice for my small girl hands. Anyways, I will hopefully buy a gun this year sometime!

Hello and welcome. When you write that you have your PAL, I hope that means an R-PAL so you can legally buy a pistol. Smallest 9mm available in Canada is the H&K P7 series, but they're expensive. They're also a little odd, buy they're fine pistols. I have small hands and the P7 is my favorite. My suggestion would be to try as many different pistols as you can. The one with the best grip for you is the one to get. This kind of discussion really should be in the Pistols and Revolvers, or the General Firearms Discussion areas. Enjoy the site.

Yes, I do have my restricted as well. Tiina, when you're talking about the women's forum, do you mean the CGN Ladies forum where we contact magnum gurly or is there another forum?

Thanks!

Ritty; srsly, for a first pistol, think long and hard about a good .22 rather than a 9mm.

It's not a recommendation because you're a woman, it's a recommendation I make for everyone (I think the first rifle should be a .22 as well).
