Hi, like most guys I got married young, worked really hard, and raised a family. The woman I married decided after twenty years she was going to pack it in and go for a younger crowd. Not that I'm devastated as this happened four going on five years now but I realised that when I got married I changed my life for the wife. I use to hunt and fish and when I tied the knot I quit, sold or gave my guns to my buddies as the wife didn't like that life style. I committed a sin, I let my FAC expire.
Now that the ex wife is in my rear view mirror and I just recently went through the Canadian Firearms course for my PAL and on this upcoming Saturday I'm writing my CORE exam and I'm looking forward to becoming a hunter again. Note: Ursula isn't her real name as it's the code name I gave her after one of the witches from MacBeth. This way if my son who's living with me over hears a conversation regarding "Ursula" he thinks it's this other woman!
One thing I've noticed is things have changed totally. When I was young the Remington 870 was the affordable shotgun of choice, now it's the Benelli shotguns. Also when I went into a gun shop you just walked in, now they have too buzz you in. Also when did guns get so much plastic on them? Where's the wood? Rifles from Japan and countries I didn't even know made rifles? Camouflaged guns? Sigh.... so much to digest.
I'm a total noob now, damn!
