I've lurked this site for a while after being told of it from one of my friends on a gaming website I belong too.

Got my PAL back in January 2010 and have been loving every second of my new hobby :) My brother and I took the course together as we had talked about doing it for some time. I was pretty excited about it as it was something I could do with my big brother. Don't see him as much as I would like so having this is a good way to entice him out of Strathmore from time to time.

I originally wanted to get my licence as I inherited a beautiful Lee Enfield No4 MKII that my grandfather purchased YEARS ago from a gun surplus store. The thing sat in my parents basement for as long as I can remember so first thing I did once I got my licence was start researching how to get it firing again as it seemed to be missing some parts as the trigger always flopped around. It was only missing the magazine catch and sear spring luckily and all the other small parts where in the compartment in the stock of the rifle.

I had it inspected and brought it to the range for the first time and was pretty nervous but thing shot beautifully. I also recently had the chance to fire it outdoors for the first time a few weeks back and was amazed at it's accuracy. The scope is obviously a little primitive by todays standards but still managed to hit around the center of the target at about 200 yrds.

I have since bought a Beretta 96a1 as my first hand gun and LOVE that thing. Nice and cheap to shoot, easy to take apart and clean. Plan on getting a couple other types of pistols but think I'm up for a shotgun first.

Me? I'm a 36 yr old Insurance Broker in Calgary. Big hockey fan and love to fish and golf. This new hobby is going to take up some time for sure but that's fine with me.

Looking forward to looking around this site and learning as much as I can from you guys.
