Higginson WC-735

I use it in 223 and it works well. I used the WC-845 surplus in 308 with great success. The 735 is a bit faster and I haven't had the chance to develop a load for 308 yet.

Wc 735

Here is my data for .223, and one similar load using H335. I find WC735 to be essentially 5% faster than H335.

I used it a bit in my 24" 223AI, but only for fireforming loads. I had a bunch of H335 so I used it for the fireformed stuff.

In my fireforming loads, I used Hornady 55 grain S.P. bought in bulk from Higginson’s for about $75 a thousand, WW brass and F205M primers.

24.0 grains = 3135fps
24.5 grains = 3200 fps
25.0 grains = 3260 fps
25.5 grains = 3300 fps
26.0 grains = 3360 fps

Typical top end loads with 55 grainers in the standard 223 is 3250 fps, so I used the 25.0 grain load seated to 2.313” (to touch leade)

I'd use it in a minute in the AI. Good powder. Dirty but you can scrub that.

I love my W735 loads. Uses up lots less powder for some fast velocities. All the loads printed above are consistent with mine.

My favorite load: 68 gr Hornady HPBT 23.5gr. 3050 fps from 16" barrel

Cheers,
Barney
