Hey all,

Was thinking of ordering some 308 once fired brass from higginsons. Just wondering if anyone has ever ordered the once fired brass from them and what was it like? I'm on a pretty tight budget or I would buy new brass and at $9/50 that's a smoking deal I think. Can choose from federal, winchester or remington.

I shoot a lot of once-fired brass I collect from family, friends, and the range I go to but have never ordered the once fired from Higginsons before. They are a reputable and trustworthy retailer so I can't see it being a scam or intentionally lying to customers.
Sometimes you don't even need to FL size once-fired brass. Test the empty cases in your rifle (after cleaning if necessary) and if they chamber, you can just neck size and fireform.

Winchester used to be great but have had a LOT of quality control issues in the past couple years.
Federal tend to be soft and get loose primer pockets easily with full power loads. They also stretch with firings more in my experience as a result of being soft.
Remington are heavier (less internal volume) than the others in general but are usually pretty good cases. Like Winchester their quality has dropped somewhat in the past few years but not as much in regard to brass quality.

Personally I'd go with Remington, then Winchester, then Federal. It's pretty close though, none of them are outstanding brass but none of them are total garbage either.

I've gotten some 1F brass from them before.... I had no problems with any of it.
If you ask nicely, you might get a choice of headstamp...... unless they only have one.

I'm kinda the same way when I order stuff too.The online thing is fine but nice to actually talk to someone sometimes to confirm certain aspects of an order just to be on the safe side.

I like to do that after, i have ordered online, then i call the dealer and have a friendly chat... Good times... JP.
