just wondering what u guys would recommend? i ended up buying some tasco ones just to see if i would like the concept now i wanna step up to something more high quality?

depends what you want to use them for & how important relaibility is to you. to get into eotechs & milspec aimpoints you"re looking into the $500 range but you get very long battery life, hight relaibility and shock resistance. go into the hunting aimpoint/holosight range and its around $300 with the same dots but mayber a little less bulletproofing. $200 is the bottom i would use as a reasonably reliable and bright red dot as long as you keep it simple ie stay awaty form variable reticles and the like - (more to go wrong).

FWIW

i am using them on a cz-858 a sks-d and a m-14 i think i will go with a eotech handled one today and they seem like the highest quality bit pricey but oh well

EOTech all the way...

The Aimpoint is also a good choice but I prefer the circle around the dot as it makes for quick aiming. Just put the circle over the target and let fly...Amazing how intuitive it is (then again maybe thats just me).

Watch the EE for a used one. Thats where I got mine for cheap...
