I was wondering with magnum calibers do scopes flex like this and if so what rings and base would be best to get?

I wouldn't worry about flexing, unless the scope fails to return to its' original shape.

yes he is also right 7.62x39 is a .308 bullet not just the more well know 7.62x51 (308 win) but still its a 7.62

Me thinks it was for the full mag , it is harder to stay on tgt , and cycle a large bolt. The semi is pretty slick.

No. He was talking about the single shot 50 cal rifles that required the bolt to be completely removed to reload each round.

The Future Weapons vid is kinda painful to watch. So many inaccuracies and fluffed up sensationalized prattling that it's no wonder that laws are as screwed up as they are, given that stuff like this is taken as being an accurate depiction of the capabilities of these firearms.

I think he'd pretty much #### himself if someone sat him down behind a Lahti or a Solothurn, let alone one of the homebuilts based on a Vulcan 20mm barrel, or, better yet, a 30mm homebuilt.

Thats not exactly true. The 7.62x39 actually uses a .311" bullet, not the .308" bullet used in 7.62x51.

The outsides always return to their original shapes but the insides don't always make the journey, companies like Schmidt & Bender make steel bodied scopes for this reason.
