High velocity or standard 22LR

I would like to know if continuous use of high velocity 22 LR ammo will beat the hell out of the action of my Browning Buckmark semi auto. Should I use standard velocity ammo for everyday hole punching of targets?

I really don't think you could beat a .22 buy using high velocity ammo . My High Standard got a steady diet of high velocity over 20 years with no ill effects . I've recently tried CCI Green Tag in my 10/22 and Ruger MK11 and it is slightly more accurate but comes with a price . The Browning Buckmark was designed as a hunting pistol for the U.S. market and hunters use high velocity ammo .

Thanks for the insight. I just purchased some CCI green tag and your right about the price. I don't think I would be using it for everyday shooting, but I'll see if it's anymore accurate.

I use CCI Standard Velocity (better quality) and CCI Blazer (cheapo), the Standard Velocity is more accurate, but slightly more expensive. Not all that bad a price for the Standard Velocity, it's cheaper than Green Tag. If you like to leave an impressive group on paper, the Standard Velocity is better for the price, Green Tag is best, but you pay for it. If you just like going through 500 rounds in a hurry, CCI Blazer works great.

I think the standard velocity ammunition types in general are supposed to be better for your action if you believe everything you read.

Target, No worry about that, some rimfire pistol need high velocity ammo to cycle the action while some don't need to, check your user manal.

Standard velocity ammo is only required for certain highend target pistols. They have lighter springs and actions that are designed for the lighter load. The Buckmark should be able to handle high velocity no problem. I didn't find CCI Green Tag any better than CCI Standard Velocity. If you think Green Tag is expensive, try Lapua Midas or Eley Tenex EPS!
