OK so I'm a junkie, I admit it (though I'm trying to change).

Anyway I have some free time & stop in at one of the local dens of iniquity, they have a 1949 LB on the rack which has markings consistant with the 1950 LB roll stamp (ie. the C. is incorperated within the marking instead of being handstamped).

This seems to confirm the idea that the majority of 1949s were marked (except for the last digit of the date) from 1945 produced actions.

Anyway this is 91L25xx dated 1949. One of the Belgians with the serialed magazine.

Whats the highest 1949 & lowest 1950 observed? Which markings variation are on them?

Thanks & regards
D

So of course I buy it, even though it's extremely overpriced:(

I guess I should have clarified, apparently the changeover to 1950 from 1949 occured during the 91L###x serial block. I'm just trying to get a handle on where...

1949 production is believed to have begun in the 89L###x range & continued into approx 91L3000. 1950 serials begin in 91L###x & continue until approx 95L9###.

My understanding is that the last operation was to serialize the completed rifle. This would indicate that there could be both a 1949 markings variation & a 1949/1950 date variation lapping several hundred to thousand serials.

My questions are basically thus:
Where is the new marking first observed? <91L25xx
Where does the date change to 1950? @91L3###?
