Highstandard 22 pistols

I phoned Al Simmons about 6 months ago and they said they haven't sold one in 2 years and are out of stock.

With all the bad I hear about the "new" High Standards, I decided against them.

If you are looking for a 22short, you might be out of luck unless you can find one sitting on a shelf somewhere. The ISSF change the rules for rapid fire a few years back and 22 shorts are no longer allowed... therefore manufacturers are not producing anymore of these pistols...

If you want something in 22 short, your best bet would be Tradeex, they have rapid fire pistol every so often, and at under $300 they make for a great plinker!

welcome to another gun nut who likes high standards

my favourite 22 is the high standard but in 22 rifle as that is all i could find, primarily the citation and the military model with the long fluted barrel

i have no knowledge of their 22 short models, but i know that the best high standards were the ones made at the original hamden factory. i bought a second citation, which was made at the second east hartford factory, and it was no where close to the quality fit and finish of the hamden model

ever thought about a pardini 22 short? more common to find, or a domino

i bought a used model for about $600 from a gun store in alberta, and it is terrfic and i don't think about getting a second. pm me for more details if you like. good hunting and shopping. regards.
