Hinged Floor Plate problems

I dunno if this is the right thread for this, but since my rifle is a bit of a "precision" rig, i thought id ask it in here anyway.


It appears the the chrome(or whatever the floor plate is covered in) is peeling and sending flakes of metal into my action. Is this a common problem on Remington products? Its a Sendero 300 rum.

Never seen it on any of mine...That's called a follower, not the floorplate.

My bad. The follower then. The piece that the shells sit on!!

You can buy replacement follwers...

Buffing wheel or sandblast that crap off and live happily ever after...

get a cast stainless follower,..they don't have chrome on them like the stamped ones
