Hinton. What can I hunt?

#2 when does the hunting season start for upland game birds and big game?

#3 Moving in September, anything I should really know about the place??

Hinton is a very nice area!

Moving in from Alberta's Lakeland region. Trading gopher hunting for other hunting opportunities, with different scenery accompanied by money in the bank. Not too bad of a trade I would say.

Have lived in about every corner of the province at one time or another.

I lived between Jasper, Hinton, Grande Cache and Grande Prairie for mosy of 7 years.
You area lucky man to be able to get there and have a job, or a bit of money and get to enjoy the hunting.

Good Luck! watch the jasper border though, and the Grizzlies!

you are 5 1/2 years too late with that advice buddy. I may as well be married..

As for the pulp mill strippers, cougars, and grizzle bars, and forestry girls, I think I will just stay away from them because they have been known to cause a man much grief!

Still pretty pumped about the september hunting... Thanks guys. Now I just gotta find a gun range and a place to call home.. Probably an apartment for awhile.

The catch and release species.. requiring no license to hunt, but does require shots from the doctor afterwards

It's about 1 hour north(hyw 40) and then .5 hours west(rock lake road) of Hinton..
