Ummm I think you've gotten mixed up. No one has stated any of the last Hirtenberger shipments were corrosive.
Berdan priming doesn't indicate corrosive priming. It's just a different/maybe cheaper method to prime the case.
If you're into fiddling around with the cases, they're excellent quality and very consistent dimensionally and weight wise.
I reloaded a lot of them, but as I aged, the hassle of finding the primers was more trouble than I was willing to go through.
It's been awhile but when I used to travel a lot, handloaders in other countries usually were set up to reload both Berdan and Boxer type cases.
I saw some very elaborate decapping units.
Some say the Berdan priming method is superior and provides much more consistent ignition, under all temperature conditions. I haven't noticed any difference, even in extremely accurate match rifles.
Rumor has it that "corrosive" primed ammunition will last longer in storage, before the propellant deteriorates???????????? That's why it was used for so long by so many nations.
