His anybody actually had a mech failure on an SKS? (Not talking ammo probs)

I have never had a problem with any SKS I have owned. My Chinese SKS that I shot south of the border got regular mistreatment of 30 round magazine dumps and not even a hiccup. Forgrip got a bit warm

im on my 4th or 5th crate of ammo (ive lost count sorry) and i have yet to have a problem other than the front lever that holds the gas tube in will work its way up every now and then, never actually had a problem because of it but i have to push it back down every now and again. i keep meaning to bend it a little so its tighter but keep forgetting. also i shoot surplus and dont do the whole "use water or it rusts solid" thing, my rifle has sat for weeks after shooting without cleaning and i have never had a issue

My first SKS (Chinese Surplus, many years ago) wouldn't feed - turns out the follower was slightly sideways (bent) and when you got to the bottom of the mag, it would mis-feed. As soon as I figured it out it took 2 seconds with pliers to fix. None of the other SKS's (7? 8?) I've owned ever had an issue. Not high tech, not fancy, not easy to use as a military firearm, but damn, they always go bang.
