History with police and getting PAL?

I just sent in my application last week and going through some threads I saw someone might not get his pal because of his name coming up in police history for something he didnt even get charged with.

Over 10 years ago I got charged for a couple minor offences and did some community service (just drinking and fighting whatever) but havent been in trouble with the law again.

Will something like that 10 years ago deny my application for a non-restricted firearm?

No, it's 5 years. But if you're asked be 100% truthful. I know folks who've been charged and convicted, cleaned up their acts and actually in less than 5 years got their PAL.
