I have been informed of an estate collection where there is a excellent cond HK91 up for grabs. I've been asked if I want it. Just curious, I know this is a prohib, but is this a 12(3), or 12(6) and what would the value/demand be? Thanks

Depends of it's a G3 or 91 I think. 12.3 for converted auto. 12.4 for semi auto 91. 12.6 is for short handguns.
$800-ish for a 91. remember that they are paperweights though; you can't take them to the range.

It could be either a 12.3 or a 12.5, depending if it's a converted auto or not.

The G3/HK91 is a 12.5 if not a 12.3.

12.4 firearms are named in former prohibited weapons order no. 12 (there were only 6 named, making 12.4 the rarest 12.X privilege to have), 12.5 firearms are named in order no. 13, of which the G3/HK91 is one.

Yes, that's right. If it's a "commercial" HK-91, then it'll be a 12.5 (semi auto only). If it's a G3, then it's an ex-military full or converted auto , but it's definately NOT a 12.6--which is the prohibited handgun class).

I see that Ar180 shooter has clarified things nicely (above) while I was composing this reply.
