Heckler & Koch updated its popular VP9 platform for 2025. These new A1 models do not have the finger grooves on the front strap of the grip frame, all while remaining customizable with differently sized panels on the sides and rear of the grip. The backstraps are designed to increase or decrease the length of pull, so those with shorter or longer fingers can customize their trigger finger reach. The 9 mm Luger-chambered handgun is fed through a 15-round detachable box magazine, and the redesigned grip frame features a large internal mag funnel for easy reloading.

HK USA came out with both its MR556 A4 and its MR762 A4 models in 2025, and the MR A4 platform is designed to be as close to the original HK416 as you can get in the United States.
