I am looking at doing production with a HK P30L, but I am having troubles trying to decide on which variant would fit the requirements for trigger pull. The V1 is what I am interested in, but I don't know if the trigger pull is too light. Any advice?

Best thing to do is shoot the different types. I have a hammerless V3 LEM (I think its the V3). Setup trigger is DA always but with a 20-30% return after the first shot.

Mine's amazing - but I shoot Shadow in IPSC - lol.

I believe V3 is DA/SA for the P30L. It's the same variant scheme as the P2000 series (and does not match the variant scheme for the USP).

I doubt the trigger pull will be too light on the DA/SA version.

The P30L should be a good IPSC gun if you already like the handling. I used one for a while and it was good.

I'm pretty sure the V1 is on the edge as far as trigger weight, also you will likely have a very hard time finding one in Canada. I'd try it before buying and definitely measure the trigger weight if possible.

I've been shooting a P30L V3 the last few months and thats been working OK for me.

Please update us with a range report when possible. I'd also appreciate it if you could measure the trigger weight & reset length.

I have a V1 and it easily makes weight for IPSC production...but the reset, while improved over the V3, is still quite long and I hate the fact a high hold effectively rides the slide release.
Great gun otherwise, but there are better guns suited to gaming.

Well i tied a 5 lb weight and hung it from the trigger and it wouldn't go. So it could do production. I know there are better guns for gaming, but I can't stand my shadow and this gun just feels and looks amazing.

I shoot Infinity pistols only for Standard they are top in that division, I think if HK will concentrate more on IPSC/USPSA shooters and come with bit better trigger system, shorter reset and lighter SA pull, we will see all kind of guys going towards P30 guns.
Also, decocer and mag release needs to be reworked, then we will have a production pistol with quality of Infinity

the "S" model would alleviate that slide riding. I should never have sold my P30-L-S.
