Depends on your 12(x) status. If you're grandfathered, chances are you can own a LOT more. ie: Hk93, HK91, HK94.
For a 'normal' restricted PAL owner, you can get:
SL8-4
UMP
USC
G36 (chaCHING!)
.... I think that's about it.

Does anyone know pricing on these guns. I have seen SL8's and USC's but non of the others. I dont have any specialstatus as I was too young when I could have bought these things...but for what its worth I damn well would have!!
I like the UMP......and I definately have moven onto next toy stage as I bought my SKS last week and now I have a non-restricted to #### around with in the bush. It is a nice addition to my safe along with the Stag 15 M4 and the HK USP .45......#### though guns are damn expensive, especially when you need to buy a safe and get club memberships and buy ammo and ####.
We are real gun crazy in this country because we have to deal with so much BS....like trying to figure out which HK rifles we can get and where their non existent prices can be found...

haha, if you #####ing about the price of ARs and USPs..I suggest you back the #### away from HK goods. They are nice stuff, but when you find them, they are really over priced.
You ever considered a Swiss Rifle? Its nicer piece of metal than any G36/Sl8 type. Plus some arent restricted...

Yah I know about the swiss stuff but I am not exactly in the market for anything right now I just love the HK rifles. All those HK's and the knockoffs for sale on gunsamerica.com are so sick. I like the look of the G36, if it was cheaper and more accessible (like an AR) I would really want one.

The SL8 is non-restricted (just to clarify). I know they carry a hefty price tag, but for me it was well worth the cost-- and the trade-in on my AR.
I don't know how much of this stuff you can get into Canada, but a quick google shows how this guy did his conversion:

Amen Nathan. I nearly crapped my pants today. My SL8 is now shooting 2.5" groups off the bipod at 200 yards. With a cheap $100 tasco scope. Off the bench with sandbags it goes around .8 MOA.
I am happy now that I didn't cheap out. I have it all: a black rifle, a tack driver, and all street legal!
Mind you, if our gov't weren't staffed by a**holes, the AR's wouldn't be restricted in the first place.
