The SL8-4 that Wolverine has in stock, with the short rail on top. Does this model have the compatible G36 magwell and bolt? meaning that if one was to do a conversion, that you don't have to swap out the magwell and bolt?. You can use G36 mags in the rifle as is?

You have to dremel-out two small nubbins inside the reciever to take the G36 mags. The bolt will work fine. It's only the US -1's that have a bolt designed for single-stack mags.

I used a small chisel to remove the bits of plastic. took some time to do it right but it looks ok.

Could someone please post pics of these "Nubs" ???
I've heard tons about them but have never actually seen them. Could anyone post pics of either before or after :)

~Cheers

I'm guessing most us that have one would have already knocked them out and therefore not have much left to photograph. They are pretty easy to find actually. Have a look at the business end of the G36/SL8 mag. You will notice that the front of the mag looks like it is slightly 'pinched in' to allow for the nubs on the receiver. Just have a look at the receiver for the corresponding male piece. If you also happen to have a AR mag, you will notice that it does not have the pinched in area, preventing it from seating flush in the SL8 receiver. Just remove your magwell and you should be able to shave them off with just about anything sharp.

Yes I know my rifle is dirty, I'm going to clean it now.

Pretty much positive they are not.
With magwell adapter AR/M16 mags will fit but to my knowledge AR mags are not interchangeable with SIG or AK.
If I'm wrong let me know however. I have the SL84 with a G36 conversion lower. It would be good to be wrong.

Yes, I meant compatible with the G36 mag well, since HK, SIG and AK mags use that M14 style release, and would have comparable dimensions.

I dont suppose anyone here owns both an SL8 and a sig?
