I remember discussing the SL8 on here at the beginning of the year and others were telling me it would be priced right around $2300.

What's the difference between the SL8-1 (which is what is listed), and the SL8-4 or 5 which is what most of us have? I have a -4 version.

According to Wikipedia:

SL8-1
The SL8-1 is the grey US-import version of the rifle. It has a single-stack magazine and its sighting system consists of a long rail with ironsights. The bolt is slightly modified to accommodate the single-stack magazine. The forearm is not vented.[1]

Was $2699 at beginning of June. CRAFTM had a special at $2499 in their inventory sale.
So you are right..a jump of $1000 ..just crazy.
