HK SL8 no dash Price Check

What would a mint stock HK SL8 go for on the open market these days. It's one of the early models that has the double stacked magazine and has the blue grey WW2 German field coat coloured stock. I have an opportunity to acquire one. Owner claims it has only 40 rnds down the pipe. I have a good reason to believe him. He also said he purchased an adapter to allow it to use G36 magazines 5/30pinned. He didn't want to alter the gun to use the adapter. I don't know if this part will be included once he locates it.

I want to offer him a fair price. Any help would be appreciated. Rob

so subtract the cost of that ammo, then maybe another $100 or so off that, plus savings of no tax on the used one...

I'd say that $1600 is fair in today's depressed market for centre-fire, semi-autos with detachable magazines. The stock SL8s are a bit of an ergonomic nightmare but they are accurate. Perfect basis for a stock-block G36 conversion....

So the older models don't hold a premium because of the stock colour and different style magazine? I thought they would be like Casio G Shock watches where one colour would be more collectible.

Personally I would put that as making them worse a third less.
