I am currently working on my project gun a HK USC. I have everything on order/lined up for the gun that i want but i am struggling in finding magazines. I know bulls eye London carries 4 at at 180 ea (puke) and armtac carries UMP magazines for 140 but i believe i would have to open up the magazine opening wider to do that which isnt a big deal but i rather not if i dont have too. If you people of CGN know where some are hiding help a brother out! CHeers

for now ive decided to hold off on going to a full ump conversion (mostly cause i dont have 2k to drop on ordering the parts from the usa hkparts.net) so ive cut off the barrel to 8 inch. bought a muzzle brake from grizzly gun works and ordered the hera arms stock replacement cause i can't that HK USC stock. and i already got a set of top and bottom rails for it with so i can put a decent site on it cause i wasnt a huge fan of the iron sites and a foregrip! ive found a few magazines for a decent price so i am going to keep the USC lower for now. depending on how i feel on the hera arms stock replacement and what ever ar15 stock i buy to add on i will decide whether or not to switch to a true ump lower and ump mags.

I sorry to have to tell you, but as I understand Canadian Firearms Regulations you've just made your restricted H&K a prohibited device by cutting the barrel.

Please understand this is only to protect you from rather ugly legal issues as cutting any centre fire semi.-auto. rifle firearms barrel down below 18" will make it a prohibited device.

I know it doesn't make sense as it already was below 18", but hey that's Canadian Firearms Regulations, when do they ever make any sense.

Again I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

the gun it self was already restricted to begin with and i didnt cut it i took to a gunsmith to shorten the barrel. thanks for the concern but its all legal and good

Well from my understanding of the reg.'s, even a gun smith cannot shorten an already restricted semi.-auto. center-fire firearms barrel below 18"; even if the barrel is already below 18".

Not trying to be a jerk about this, but it's just the way the reg,'s are written. That and I've gone through this before and as we all know the way the reg,'s are written make no sense some (many) times.

Basically you can't shorten any semi.-auto. centre-fire rifles barrel below 18". You can buy a manufactured barrel as short as you want so long as the overall length of he firearm remained over 26".

Cheers D

I'm afraid Zeroed-in is correct on this one. If you are declaring your gunsmith manufactured a barrel in said 8" for you, that has a much better ring to it legally.

Manufactured as in from an entirely different barrel blank.

It is easy for someone to tell if you cut down the original HK barrel because of the proof marks, so it would not be smart to do so especially for a gunsmith
