HK USC - opinions?

I've had an HK USC for about 6 months now, and have fired about 600 rounds. Some days I love it, and some days I don't. It is a very fun gun to shoot, but it's usefulness is pretty limited. Even with basic accessories and a few mags, this thing is WELL over $2K (gun, sling, rail, and 7 spare mags cost me about $2700 plus GST). It's fun blasting off rounds at close range targets, but what do you do with it when the novelty is gone? So, there you go, I love it and don't love it all at the same time. I just can't help thinking of all those other guns I could have bought for 2700 bucks. What has been others' experience with the USC?

Here's a pic:

Too bad it could not utilize 10rd (or 25) round mags. 5rds in a sub-gun seems a waste to me. As much as a like HK's, I would never buy this particular firearm for that amount. I might have paid $1300-$1400 at most.

I haven't paid much attention to the price of used USCs. If the price is fairly stable, I'd consider selling it and buying something else. If you really regret selling it, you can always buy another one later.

I can see why 5 rd mags would really suck in a semi SMG. Kind of ruins the point of the SMG.

I actually ordered a batch of mags that arrived UNPINNED! I am not sure where the screw-up was. But, with a heavy heart I unwillingly did my duty, and blocked the mags to 5 rounds

I like it, the only thing is the mag part. it has to be cocked back to put it in. and I would it pay it $2400. would have gotten a Mark 23.

Having had both a USC, and one of the few semi-auto only UMP's around, I no longer own either for the reasons elaborated thus far.
I currently enjoy, as much as is possible, one of the non-restricted CX4's...
Way cheaper than the H&K's, uses 10 round mags, and I can use it off the range....
Having said that, and having had a chance to wring out an MP5 during a range exercise..... dumping mag after mag in full "rock and roll" action, NONE of the current offerings in neutered SMG's offers a whole lot.
