Hey guys, im new to shooting here in Canada , have been an avid H&K enthusiast since the very first rainbowsix came out for ye old PC. when i found out you could legally own a handgun in Canada I went on a little adventure to purchase a H&K USP .45 , after shooting a few hundred rounds, i found my self wondering, darn should i have gotten the usp in 9mm? what are the major differences, minus the small size difference, is there really all much more kick in the .45 or is it not to comparable?

I find 9mm to be 'snappier' in recoil than .45.

.45 has 'more' recoil, but I find it more of a push than a snap. I had 9mm's, but sold them all to buy .40's and .45's... :) my current .45 being a USP.

But other than the calibre difference and small frame size difference, they are the same pistol. .45 is pricier to shoot, but waaay more manly, IMHO... haha. Get into reloading and cost becomes less of a factor - 45 brass lasts almost forever.

I had the USP .45 and currently have the 9mm: they're both reliable and accurate.

There's really not that much recoil in the 9mm, which makes it really easy to do follow-up shots and doubletaps.

I wouldn't trade my stainless USP9 for anything.

Try out lots of guns before you settle on a certain brand/model/caliber. You will find many models feel very different in the hand.

I personally hate my USP40. If I had spent some time at the range with one before I bought it, I would have saved myself $450.

I'll take it off your hands for $450, as long as it is in Calgary and not Cali. That way, you will still save yourself 450. :)

Thanks for the offer but the guns need to go back to the US. Even in the US where guns are cheap it would normally sell for $550-$600 on the used gun market. I just got a good deal from a guy with a pissed off wife :D

Heh, I knew you couldn't sell if for that cheap! All I get from friends with pissed off wives is a bum sleeping on my couch...lowsy free loaders!
