Can you still get HK USP conversion kits? I have a catalog from HK from Germany and it has a lot of conversion kits between different variants and models. For example, you can convert an HK USP .45 ACP to HK USP 9 mm using one receiver, HK USP .45 ACP to HK USP Expert in .45 ACP or 9 mm, etc. using one receiver. If you can get these conversion kits, do you know how much they cost and where they can be obtained?

Maybe they are only for sale in Germany or something. I was hoping to save some money by using the same receiver for .45 ACP and 9 mm instead of buying two handguns.

You and me both, buddy. I have a stainless 9 that I wanted to turn into a tactical by adding a trigger kit, new slide w/ sights and a tac barrel.

Well, just order the match trigger kit, and some adjustable sights.
The barrel can be ordered as well.

Conversion kits are popular almost exclusively in Europe. I'm not exactly sure about pricing for USP kits but every Sig Sauer complete slide conversion has been too expensive to be worth the effort.

(Note the prices in canada for the USP and P226 are similar while in Deutschland the USP is very cheap €700 while the P226 is quite expensive, at ~ €1100. )

search : 'wechselsystem' on both the HK page and for Sig Sauer.

You'll see it costs almost the same as the gun itself. around €500,00 , for the USP and about €800,00 for the Sauers.

It's not a real 'saving' per se. You would only do it for legal purposes when trying to limit yourself to a number of firearms.

Aren't the 9mm & .40 a different frame size compared to the .45 model?

I thought the USP in .45 ACP had a larger frame than the USP in .40 S&W or 9 mm. However, the HK catalog I have has a big chart with a lot of combinations of conversion kits. There are kits for converting the standard USP in .45 ACP to the Custom Sport, Expert, Elite, or Tactical in .45 ACP. There are also kits for converting the standard USP in .45 ACP to Expert or Elite in 9 mm but not .40 S&W. There are also kits for converting the standard USP in .40 S&W to Custom Sport, Expert, or Elite in .40 S&W or 9 mm. A conversion kit consists of a slide, barrel, guide rod, recoil spring, o-rings, and magazines.

Hi

If it's the same frame for 9mm and for 45 acp they have a very oversized 9mm frame. The 9mm magazine also must be a bit odd ....

Bob

The kit converts the USP in .45 to an Expert or Elite in 9mm - NOT into the USP9mm. The USP 9mm is very different from the the Elite/Expert 9mm.

No. There is a conversion to standard(along with the conversion to Elite). As I posted previously, check out the site for prices(in Germany) and variants.
