Hey folks,

I am
Looking at picking up 1 of these 2 pistols an am looking for opinions on which is a better pistol. I have held both and either on feels great in my hand, but want some opinions from people who have owned or shot both. I am only interested in .45acp models. I owned a Kimber 1911 TLE RL II and want to try something new, but can only get 1.

Thanks.

Also, I dont want to be rude, but I don't want to hear how I should get a Glock or CZ or any other pistol. These are the 2 I am interested in because they fit the size and shape of my hand better than the other brands and models.

Sig is the way to go ..... Bought my first sig a few years ago and fell in love .... Since then I've sold all my Tupperware guns and collect sigs. I'm not bashing other guns just personally love sigs and the USP's don't appeal to me at all

Thanks for the response. Kinda surprised no one has an opinion on the HK or a comparison of the two from experience.

SIG, if for no reason but that it is a SIG. I like H&k but I'd take the SIG any day and twice in a fight.

I own both brands, however I do not own a SIG 220. From my experiences with both pistols, I really don't believe that either one would be a bad decision. I am a die-hard HK guy, and would never think to question HKs reliability, and reputation for producing a solid pistol...in my opinion, that's exactly what they are. I've owned almost every model of USP available to us in Canada, including the USP45 Tactical, and have recently acquired my first P30, and have pre-ordered my first HK45 Compact, whhich is due to arrive towards the end of this year. They are awesome, well-built guns, and will always perform as expected.

My SIGs, which are both P226's, are amazing...plain and simple. I have a 9mm Elite Dark, and a 40 S&W TacOps. They are fantastic shooters, they feel/fit perfect, they eat pretty much anything that I feed them...they are just awesome. I don't have as much experience with SIG as I do with HK, since I've only recently ventured over to the SIG Sauer side. But what I can tell you is that I am very glad that I did, and I am exteremely pleased with both of them. I hope to add a few more to my collection in the near future, but for the moment, I am still having a great time with the two that I already have.

If I had to choose between the two, it would definitely be a tough decision. Now that I have tasted both, I like them equally the same...that is what would make it difficult for me as well. I would go with the one that appeals to you the most. All in all, they are both great guns, but there is gonna' be something that you like more about one than the other. Go with your gut, and choose the one that feels more natural in your hand. I'm sure that you'll be pleased either way. Good luck.

I was in the same situation a few years ago, I like both, so I bought and own both!

You are comparing two very different pistols, a polymer frame to an alloy frame. The USP has a more blocky, angular grip, so unless you have average to large hands, the Sig will fit smaller hands a bit better.

I find the USP has a slightly softer recoil than my Sig P220, but the 220 is more compact and just fits my hands better. I seem to be able to shoot my 220 slightly more accurately, but that varies!! lol

You are in a tough situation, it really boils down to what fits your hands better, if you like metal gun vs polymer framed guns. I like both, so I own both.

If the pistols are selling for about the same and are in similar condition, the H&K Tactical would be the way I would lean as it is a very nice piece and to the best of my knowledge costs a bit more than the Sig.
