Just curious what you think of the gun and who has or has owned one before.

Now I know about the trigger pressure issues and if applicable will be getting the kit in from Wolf. I have the hands of a gorilla so I,m not worried about that.

A friend has one(VP70 not gorilla) and I found the gun fit well in my hand and it looks pretty cool if you ask me.

I am told it shoots well due to the fixed barrel and is pretty reliable.

So I'd like to hear from you folks who owned one or own one and am interested in hearing your thought.

I haven't owned one, but I put ~700 rounds down range with one. No jams at all.
It has been more than 20 years since I shot one so I may have forgotten some of the finer detail.
At the time there wasn't really nothing to compare it to, I can't think of a contemporary striker fired DA pistol. The trigger pull was long and fairly heavy, it stacked up a bit just before it fired. The sights weren't great but they were usable. Most of the guys used to shooting revolvers hated it.
Over all I liked it. It was ahead of its' time, I think. The 18 round mags were fun. I had planned to buy one after I tried out the VP70 but I got distacted by some other shiny object an never got around to getting the HK.

Big and clunky was my impression. They don't feel to bad in the hand, and when the mag (formerly:mad: ) was full you could shoot all day. Sights where ok, but oh, man that trigger. You could sorta stage it and it was workable, but I'd hate to have to shoot fast and accurate with it. Pity we can't get the good version with the stock and selective fire:)

It's not a 1911 but saying that it will shoot all day without a jam ( anything; ball to huge hollow point). The wolf springs does wonders to the trigger pull; still long but smooth and much lighter. It is accurate when you get familar to the trigger; with a rest very accurate. Again sights are not for precision shooting.

It is a collectors item as well. Someday when I have the money I will get a used one.

They actually made a even more rare semi auto only version with the stock as well. I think it was a VP70(Z) as well but notched for the stock. Yes that would be very nice and you wouldnt have to worry about all the converted auto nonsense.

I think I am going to put a deposit on the standard VP70z my friend has this weekend.

My friend does some reloading on the side and is working on 9mm. He started obviously with a low charge and is working his way up to medium or more. He had some low powered/ or powdered 9mm and used it in the VP70z and because of the design of the action(blowback fixed barrel) it fired every round with no issues. He said it was like shooting a .22 and it ejected every them all.

I dont know just kind of a neat gun, allways liked the look of itever since the days when James Cameron decided to put in his Movie "Aliens"

Now you can get a replica VP70M and as expected you can get the stock for it. It looks fairly well made. Obviously you wont be able to attach it to the real VP70Z but I am wondering if you can use it as the holster. That would be kind of neat having that as a nifty little holster. Marked with all the HK stuff as well.

Man I wish I wasn't addicted to guns its like heroin
