HK vs. Colt video... might be a repost.

Anyone else notice he held that HK out of the water for nearly the full 2 seconds on Test A, and barely had the Colt to his shoulder before he pulled the trigger? I wonder if that was 'editing for time' or if it was a true comparison... 'm jus' sayin'.....

It is, after all, a sales video for HK....

Actually it isn't it, was leaked out or something, i can't remember exactly anymore, but trust me if your jumping out the water the HK416/417 rifle will be fine, not that i advise doing that anyways!

HK, KAC, COLT all on my list of TO BUY settling with LMT for now :D. Anyone know if we can get the 10.3" LMT Upper's for an authentic MK18 Mod 1 IIRC?

Colt makes the 10.3" Mk18 barrels

LMT make the 10.5", one unit bought those, as well as they have been Safety Certified in USSOCOM- but are not current purchase items.

What was leaked out? Are you saying the Colt wouldn't/shouldn't have done that? Or just the HK would still work the same. Curiosity and all.

Not really, they marketed a specific issue that their gun was designed for.

Don't think other companies don't do similar activities...

Some companies have piles of other companies broken parts etc.

Want better insight into what's going on in the biz look at FBO request for what entities/departments are buying what guns.

Yea I have the LMT 10.5" I've been wishing for a 10.3" with the DD Mk18 rails.

Probably gonna pick up a 16" of some sort first so I have something I can take it to the States.

Back on topic though, when I can afford it I'll have both HK and Colt :D

I take it you missed the part later on when they fired the HK underwater?

Keep in mind the Hk 10.4" is the OTB model
010.jpg

The bolt carrier has a drain
- the piston system does not have a gas tube- so water is not trapped inside (like a DI Gas Tube)

However look at the inside of the Hk416
020.jpg

little pieces of aluminum

(This is an '07 OTB 10.4") the current 09/10 guns have been relieved around the cam pin area so this does not get as torn up.

My point is that you can design a gun to do certain things, and then pitch it as ideal and show how it blows away the competition in that certain test.

However it will not necessarily be a better service system for roles outside that one niche.
