So I was looking up info on the HK11 (7.62NATO, mag fed machine gun), and came across this article: http://world.guns.ru/machine/de/hk-21-and-23-e.html . And it mentions that HK manufactured a model in their HK2x line for the 7.62x39 cartridge.

Anybody have any better luck finding pics of this monstrosity? I've tried. My google-fu no good.

BTW should this be in the black-/green-, red-, or main battle- rifle section? lol

If its strictly mag fed then it isn't a machine gun. A true machine gun is belt fed and fires from an open bolt, usually automatic only and they usually have quicl change barrels as well.

So the Browning M2 and 1919A4 aren't machine guns then with no quick change barrel and closed bolt? Or the Bren with its mag feed? A "machine gun" by definition is a full automatic firearm designed for sustained fire; any stricter a definition excludes many firearms that fit that class.

Have no experience with the HK22, however I did have a HK21 in Iraq. It has a quick change barrel and had the ability to fire semi or full automatic. Very well made weapon, reliable, handles nicely, can be fired from the shoulder, and accurate enough for medium range precision work.

The HK1x line is mag fed (converted from belt feds), the HK1xE and HK2xE lines could swap feed system easily from mag to belt, and vice-versa, the HK2x line were belt-fed. And do have a quick change barrel.

Yes, those are not machine guns. They are hunting rifles, and I would like a few immediately.

Tree mugger.

"...A true machine gun is..." Nonsense. Ever heard of a Lewis gun? A BAR? Etc, etc.
The only HK M22 I'm seeing is a .22 lr pistol. No SMG or 7.62 x 39 battle rifle.

The only 7.62x32 HK rifle listed in Small Arms of the World, volumes 9 & 12, is a G3 variant HK32.

Friggen cool lookin' rifle
