Hk416

Thanks for the info. What makes the LAR magazine legal?

It was made for the rock river arms pistol. Pistol ten rounds in Canada legal, five round for rifle. No one wrote in the law books that you can't use a pistol mag in a rifle. Also no one wrote a law that says you cannot run different ammo then the magazine was made for. Look at Beowulf 50 cal mags they can fit 16 rounds of 223 even though it was meant for a larger round pinned to five which is it. You can jam whatever fits in there.

You can "find" a 416 upper, but not the lower. And even then the last one I saw was around 8K for just the upper (Not sure if it included the bolt either) So pretty much unobtanium.

And yeah the MR223/A1s are floating around but are aroung 4Kish all in.

I found one on the range a few years ago.

"Anyone missing a very heavy AR?"

It's getting old brother...lol.

That being said the MR223 is built like a beast and what benfit you get out of that is huge in terms of reliability and longevity in the rifle, also you can adjust your setup on that rifle to fit the mission, that being said we can only take that rifle from the car to the range. Another thing to consider is that rifle is basically the same profile as the m27 IAR that won the USMC contract, you can always reprofile that barrel to cut down on some weight that I would recommend, at least on the exterior to save weight. It definetly is not the rifle to rule them all because it is built within it's own class of AR's and many builds or variants are setup for more specific purposes, that being said you can do everything with rifle extremely well.
