Looking at picking up a 22 for plinking at the range. Has to be tactical, can't help being a black rifle fan. These are my choices....

- HK416D
- Troy T22 Battle Chassis Extreme
- Ruger SR22

Anyone who owns one or more of these, I would appreciate any input you have. Out of all 3, I like the HK the best, but I'm wondering about mag availability. 2nd choice would be the Troy, which from what I can tell is built with the Ruger 10/22 base inside a Troy chassis. Then of course, there is the actual Ruger SR22.

Decisions, decisions.....

I'm expecting my 416 tomorrow. The seller for me was an all metal construction. It has 10, 20 and 30 round available, and is restricted, but I have no problem with that. I have the 416 pistol and the only downside is the heavy trigger, it's supposed to be 10 pounds or something. I have a Mossy 715T, fun but plastic, but this is next on the list:https://us.armscor.com/products/mig-22-target

I think irunguns.ca has the 416 in stock, maybe even on sale, not sure.

I picked up the troy tactical chassis and a donor ruger about 6 months ago , and have just sprung for a new scope 3/9/40 , a tactical solutions barrel & compensator & extended mag release in silver. With the stock barrel it shot really low on the battle sights , & I'm curious if the new barrel will be different , doesn't matter a lot now the scopes on . I haven't shot it yet so my finger is pretty itchy ! I really like the way it feels , it has weight to it , there's no plasticky feel to it . That being said the adjustable stock is plastic ( polymer & metal tube ) and with the adjustability comes with a little tiny wiggle in the stock , not annoying or bad or anything like that but it is there . Over all I'm really pleased with how my " build " is going (lol) , as for which gun you should buy , all three are winners for sure , and it really comes down to which one fits you best , if you want a expensive project do what I did and build a troy just how you want it , if you can find one the sr 22 is a better " bang for your buck " . The hk is probably my favourite but...... It's restricted and that may or may not be a problem for you , good luck , but you really can't go wrong with any of them .

That's a pretty hard choice, i guess it would come down to which one you personally like better. I got the SR22 and its great, people at the range usually give a lot of compliments and are quite shocked to find out its a 10/22 in disguise haha. I'm guessing the SR22 would weight more than the t22 (I have never held or seen a t22 in person). My SR22 litterally never jams with blazer ammo and is more accurate than I am.

They are both built off the 10/22 so they both have the ability to be customized to your hearts content. Like I said, it'll be your personal choice!

Crap, forgot the HK was restricted. That takes all the fun out of owning a 22 for me. T22 or SR22 it is. Thanks all.

Yea, I really wanted a HK416D... but the SR-22 can look pretty bad ass all done up! It is somewhat weighty being all aluminum. This config weighs 7.5lbs without a mag.
