So I'm toying with the idea of a 45 handgun, and leaning towards the various HK treasures. The new Hk45 is neat looking, and 99% of the guns I see online are black slide with black/tan/green frame.

That was, until I started poking around on SFRC's site:

Was this only ever a marketing image, or did some fellas get solid colour guns?

There was a fully OD green one in the EE a week or two ago. Is it just me or does H&K have a really odd looking FDE ? More or a crappy peanut butter colour. Don't get me wrong I love H&K pistols but something about their FDE seems off to me.

Has a real butterscotch colouring dont look very good in person. IMO.

I have never seen one with a colour matched slide yet, in store I should mentioin. Always just the coloured polymer frame and black slide. Would love if my 45c had an OD slide.

Well technically they don't call it fde, they call it the RAL8000, and ya it looks really weird to me. Apparently it's a really tough finish compared to your standard fde cerakote, but I can only take that at face value since I have done no testing of any sort to confirm that.

As for TVPP question, as of 2015 HK is offering solid colour combo HK45 frames and slide.
