Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows the difference between these guns? I have been trying to read up on the differences but other then the usp being discontinued there is not much more. I called a few dealers in the US and each told me to try and get the non usp model as it has a better feel. One nice thing is in Canada we get the threaded barrel on the C without needing to go up to the CT model.

Also I cannot find the HK45c non usp model anywhere in canada. If you have seen it somewhere please let me know.

Thanks T

All of the 4 families of USP pistols are still online at HK-USA.com. Not sure where you got your info from...

HK45 is an updated USP, better ergonomics and with a 1911 grip angle. It's been established that not many make it to Canada for some reason. Those who have found one are lucky. Imported from the US or an HK dealer will get one in, rarely. The guy on the EE is trying to make money on it due to the scarcity, it's $1399 here, $1100 in the states.

If you are seriously looking at getting one, I suggest you contact Prophet River and have them locate one in the US and they'll import for you (for a fee).

Do you know if the compact will be available in Canada. Since the barrel was to short we got the threaded ones instead?

Also of you had to choose between $1100 for the usp 45c or $1399 for the 45ct what would you get?

As for them discontinuing the usp 45 spoke to HK today and was told that.

I would buy the HK45 full size if I had the choice. Not sure if the compact models have the recoil reduction system, which is one of the big selling points on these. Shoot monster 230g rounds that feel like 9mm... If you really want a compact, get the 45 as it's the new and improved USP45. But, it's your money and I can't spend it for you.

A standard HK45 sells for $1399. The HK45CT in going to cost more up here.

On HKPro there was a group buy of HK45c in FDE colour $885 US. If you get export approval successfully through prophet river it could work out to a reasonable price.

$1050-1100 in states for HK45 and the compact is similarly priced. For $1400 you can buy a .50 Desert Eagle in Detroit.;) That's the price difference between US and Canada. Even had a Mark 23 in the Detroit gun shop I was in a few months ago... didn't catch the price, but I doubt it was the huge money asked for here.

I am sure if the OP imported one he wouldn't pay any more than finding one here (which is almost impossible).

The issue with the group but is the length. That is why the 45c here comes with the threaded versions. Anyone know where to get the HK45c in Canada. Also does anyone have the prices for the below?

Usp 45
Usp 45c
Usp 45ct

Hk45
Hk45c
Hk45ct

Thanks Terry

The HK45 and all variants are:

"Not readily shipped to Canada" so it's tough to get a price on it. Only price I've ever been quoted is $1399 at Wolverine, for a backorder where I was told, "No guarantee we will get one".

I emailed several site sponsors and I was told no suppliers had them and none are expected. Hence, a guy is asking $2000 for his on the EE because you can't find them here.

There are several threads about the HK45 availability... or lack of.

My additions are in red

I bought it from Ellwood Epps in March. Epps and Wolverine had gotten a shipment of HK45 and I grabbed one. The $1195 for the USP45CT was a one time price from Ellwood Epps. I tried to get it but someone beat me to it. I asked about ordering one and they could not say when it would come in and the regular price was $1499.

In the end what is the difference between the 45c and the 45ct? I know the threaded barrel comes with both and the raised night vision sights but what else?

Also how does it for in your hand? I have big hands have heard some bad things. Also how happy are you with it?

Thanks t

the hk usp vs hk usp tactical had the following differences...the tactical had a leo match trigger, raised sights and a threaded barrell...i believe that the hk 45c and hk 45c tactical have the same additional features, hence the heftier price. I had a bare bones hk usp45 v1 and i loved it... 100% reliable thru factory, and all sorts of reload combinations...one thing that turns me off about the compacts is their reliance on its spring... the hkusp compact had to get its recoil spring changed every 5000 rounds...and judging on how long or hard it is to get the pricey parts up here... i said goodbye to my usp and got a sig instead lol

From what I can find there is not much difference. One is stamped 45C and the other is stamped 45CT. I've got small hands and I use the smaller of the 2 grip inserts. Its my first handgun so I am not an expert with it. I seem to be shooting low on my targets. I ordered 2 shorter HK front sights from Wolverine supply just to see if a different set up would work better.
You can download the HK45 and HK45C user manual from HK USA. It also lists the HK45CT specs.

Just waiting on transfer and I will have my HK45 non USP.

I fired it and that was it, I had to have it....if you find an HK45 for a decent price, grab it, they don't last long!

The HK45 was developed primarily for the American market so HK GmBH sent all of the HK45 tooling to HK USA. HK USA is forbidden from exporting parts by it's parent company. The few that made it over here are either smuggled, imported individually, or got in before the tooling was sent to the US.
