I am seriously looking at buying a HK45CT, where can I find one? Who's a good exporter in the US and who's a good importer in Canada. Looking at either or right now. I'm guessing it's more economical and probably quicker to find an exporter from the states?

^^^^ What he said! That is what I will be doing, very soon.

FYI

I was at the BGC earlier this week to check out pricing on a couple of pistols, one of them being a H&K HK45CT, as I intend to import one.

They provided pricing on several versions of the gun. A Ver. 1 (DA/SA) HK45CT sells for $1099.00, the LEM Ver. sells for $1159.00! Spare mags sell for $49.95!!

The fellow I spoke with said it would take approx. 2 weeks to get one in after I place the order. He added that the transfer/import paperwork takes approx. 4 weeks.

They charge $100.00 plus 5% of the value of the gun to do the required paper work and to deliver the gun to the Peace Bridge at Buffalo/Ft. Erie.

You do not pay NY state sales tax. You pay HST on the value of the gun and fees when you process the paper work at Can Customs.

If you live within driving distance to Buffalo it is a very easy, painless process.

Get this..............................the other pistol I priced out was a full size HK45............. = $1049.00, plus the additional dollars I listed above!

Can't decide which one to order/buy first!!!

bgc is great, they are very used to the process, guessing a lot of business has been coming their way...they make a small profit, we save money, WINNING!!

What ever you do, get them to throw in a couple mags in the box or something. They are impossible to get up here. I'm considering downgrading to a M&P45 just so I can get mags.

Buffalo Peace Bridge? I'm guessing they deliver to some location near the border of ontario? I live in Alberta, anyway they can deliver to a home address?

That's incredibly cheap!!! A Seattle, WA based exporter called Borderview charges $250 plus 5% of gun value, then $75 for delivery to the border, or $50-100 for shipping.

I bet it is due to the huge buying power of Toronto and the GTA that it is worth doing this for their business. I was told at a gun shop in Detroit that you had to be a Michigan resident to buy any firearms. They don't want my business or the paper work that comes with it. Those in the GTA should be thankful someone is willing to do this for them. Maybe someone from the GTA could import a bunch of them and put them on the EE at actual cost. I am sure this person will attain a "legendary status" if they did.

I came across this post recently. The fellow imported a Colt AR from the BGC and he wrote up the import process even better than I did, so I figured I'd add it to this thread, so more members know this option exists and what how the process works.

I will be visiting the BGC next week to order my H&K HK45, I will ask if they can assist members outside the GTA/Niagara area. I'll update this post after I speak to them.

That sounds great. I am sure if a mailing system was put in place it would help them sell a lot of guns and make a bunch of CGN'rs happy. If you are ordering a full sized model I would be very interested seeing the final cost, as this is the model I am interested in as well. Thanks.

I looked into them also...but there was also a "tactical" surcharge which would have got me looking for the HK45CT. Quickly became too much (so I snagged a USPc .45 from Wolverine). Too bad there isn't something like BGC on this side of the country.

Any exporters that actually ship to home address?

I am assuming this is the question that Blackacres will be asking BGC... hoping to hear a "Yes". I am sure it is possible an ATT could be shipped to Buffalo and the firearm can be shipped directly to the Canadian customer if all import/export documents are completed... I hope anyway.

No. To. comply with US laws they cannot ship a firearm to a private individual.

In the US any gun you purchase must be shipped to someone who holds a Federal Firearms License (FFL).
Most FFL's charge a fee in the neighborhood of $25 to complete a transfer.

So to comply with US federal laws you must physically drive your gun across the border yourself.

Also purchasing a firearm in the USA with knowledge that it is for someone else is considered a straw purchase and it is a felony.

"In the context of United States federal gun laws, a straw purchase is defined as any purchase from a dealer holding a Federal Firearms License where the buyer conducting the transaction is acting as a proxy for another person. The law does not distinguish between someone who is purchasing on behalf of a person who legally cannot purchase or possess a firearm, and one who is not."
