If i'm not good enough for them, they aren't good enough for my money

HK has bent over backwards for the US and Canadian market - HK93, HK93, HK91, SL8 etc.

The BATF as well recently forbid the import of barrels (and thus complete uppers) for AR's etc.

USC, SL8. For civies that is all I am aware. They must realize the lucrative market they can tap into by the records of pistol sales. Even the SL8 must sell well.
They could have avoided making the USC and SL8 by making a different lower that only was Semi auto, and took the same mags, as full capacity mags are allowed in some countries, and used neutured mags for other countries.

At the time of those the 94 AWB was around...

Please do some research on import requirements for the US...

Canada is a VERY VERY small market for firearms --

Well put, and I think that laws dates back to the end of WWII.
It's actually a lot more recent. I believe that it was passed sometime in the early 90's, not long after Bush Sr. banned the importation of pretty much every HK long gun that was being produced at the time.

Well to come to the "aid" of HK, and having talked to the people at HKUSA they embrace the idea of "civi" sales, but they have to focus on MIL/LE. This is there "bread&butter" it's these people that drive sales and the RD of the company not to mention it's "reputation". That said they understand the "loyal" following that HK has in the civi market. I know of one case, with one of there courses, they had a accident and the company directors "flinched" and the course failed to get repeated. So in some respects they rule on the side of cauition when it comes to selling there products in the civilian market.
