OK, so praying nightly for the safe arrival of my R22, I checked out my .22lr ammo supply and headed to Ukrainian Tire to pad my assortment of test ammo.

Since Rhineland mention they prefer the Federal Gameshock solids, I grabbed a few boxes of them and the hollowpoint version (710 and 712).

They also had the bricks of Champion. On inspection, it appears to be identical to the Gameshock solids, except for the copper coating.

has anyone tested these two loads head to head?

Well, after testing them out, i do prefer the #710 Gameshock solids. They seem to be more consistant than the #510 Champion solids, and seem to be more accurate. The bulk packed Champion #745c isn't to bad either for consistancy.

Not sure about the Champion yet, but I know the the Gameshock is always VERY accurate, and very consistent through my CZ American.

It is by far my favourite non match-grade round so far, and I have tried almost everything available. It's a little more expensive than Super X and the other cheapies, but as I said I find it's MUCH more consistent, and very accurate.

Don't know if that does you any good.... just thought I would let you know :p

i too have had better luck with the federal game-Shok (ya thats how its spelt), but my local flat tire hardly ever has any and if they do that changes when i walk out the door lol it seems they only get it a brick at a time and sell of the individual boxes, they have tons of win stuff there but it seems to move quite slowly

i see wholesale has the #712 (what i shoot) for $219.99/case (or 2.49/box vrs the CT price of 2.99/box) anyone know of a better deal around for a case of it?

i use the HP instead of solids since my 22 likes the 38gr stuff

what i am planing to try is the fed 712 against the American eagle AE22 to see if the "cheap" AE22 is on par with the costly Fed 712?
case to case its $0.043998/round(219.99/5000) for 712 and $0.0337475/round(134.99/4000) for the AE22

anyways
Joe
