I'm torn between 3 totally different rifles. CZ 452 American, Browning Buckmark Classic Target and the Savage BVTSS which is their new .22LR version not to be confused with the BTVS which is the .17 version. Mainly will be used for informal shooting but a lil chicken, squirrel and rabbit every so often. Any thoughts?

I'd go for the BVTSS. I'm more of a bang for the buck kind of guy, when it comes to rimfires. The CZ is nice, but I'd rather put the savings from the Savage into a scope and ammo. You aren't giving up any accuracy either way.

Which ever feels best in your hands, really. The Savage won't have the best of resale value if you choose to sell it someday. The Buckmark is kind of a novelty thing and the CZ...well, is the best bang for the buck out there.
Just my 2 cents.

The dude at Wholesale Sports said the same thing to me, as he handed me a CZ 511. I loved everything about the gun except the mag release.I like the look of the 452 American but they were out.

Go with th CZ and don't even think twice about it. If your in the market for a new .22, go for quality. you will shoot it more than any gun you own. As for bang for buck, it comes down to what you want it for. To me, savages are just plain clunky. I'm allowed to say that, I have one. But there's nothing like the feel of a fine rifle, stocked with classy walnut and polished blue in your hands. Put a nice scope on there, and it will be a rifle you will be proud to own and will hand down one day.

You kinda read my mind there. I will mostly use it for target shooting and the odd small game. Come to think of it the Savage was a lil clunkey but the thumbhole stock is nice. I have to say the CZ's do seem to have a better finish on them.

I've owned two of the three...and the .17 version of the other.

Hands down, no contest, 100%......Buckmark. Anybody who picks one of the others hasn't owned a buckmark ;) It feels and points like no other, is light and compact even in the target version, and just screams quality in the hand.

Although, one more to look at would be the T/C benchmark. It appears to be a great gun as well. Check out the SIR website for pics.

Ya the T/C was nice too (also has a lfetime warrenty), I handled one the same day as the Buckmark. I wish S.I.R had a range for people to try out what the sell.

I'll throw one more in the mix for you. I picked up a Browning T-bolt. The quality and fit and finish is impecable. My other choices were the CZ and the 77/22. So the price is somewhat comparable. Spend a few bucks more, and you've got a gorgeous rifle. But, it doen't matter what you pick, you'll love it anyways.

well well well...........I got blindsided :p , my bud and my girl talked me into the K10/22 (don't roll your eyes, I know you are  ) basically she likes to shoot and hates loading mags and my bud and I hate loading all the time for her. Hence the reason for the ruger, b/c of the high cap mags and speed loaders. Anyhoo the next purchase will be the savage or the cz, and thanks for all the input guys, much appreciated.
