Here's my new Sako 75 Varmint. It is chambered in .204 ruger and is topped with a Bushnell 4200 4X16-50 scope, held by medium optilock rings and bases. A big thanks to the friendly staff at P&D. They were very helpful and shipped the gun quickly and securely packaged. From the purchase phone call, to hunting yotes' in Ontario in 4.5 days!

What a tack driver. I need to find a LONGER range to practice on :dancingbanana: .

Range report.....what can I say. You certainly get what you pay for. I've spent huge $$$ on shotguns in the past, but I've never owned a really nice rifle before.

The stock is wonderfully sculpted and fits like a glove. I've never experienced such a nice trigger. It is adjusted it to nearly the lightestest setting....think about squeezing and bang. Breaks just like Grandmas fine China ;) .

Here's my best 5 shot group so far. Fired from the bipod in a prone position at 100 yards.

Virtually no recoil, you can watch your hole appear instantly on target.

Love that 204

Very nice rifle, I hope to get a Sako when I can afford one.

You will love the 204. The total lack of recoil makes shooting all day a breeze and the flat trajetory makes hold over unnessecary up to 350 yards.

So far I've used mine to take over 1000 gophers, several pigeons, 4 magpies, and one coyote. Results are always spectacular.

This summer when gopher hunting I want to extend my range to 500 yards with a table and bags.

Its a good resourse for the .204 Ruger, a small community and very civil.

Thanks guys. I'm lovin' the rifle and the 204 ruger is truly an amazing, easy shooting caliber. I've only had the opportunity to get out once for coyotes so far. On our second "set" of the day, we had two dogs come in hard from over 800 yards away. One was a real light grey - almost white, the other a typical looking yote. The wind was tough and both of them were coming from a bad direction. A laser rangefinder told us that 367 yards was as close as they were going to get. I steadied the gun on a fence post, held over for drop and drift (it was pretty gusty) and squeeeezed the trigger. To my surprise, the bullet struck almost exactly where I was aiming.....I need to practice more in hunting conditions / doping the wind with this new gun.

I'm new to the varmint game, and totally hooked  .
