Hogue sleeve

I agree in that something is wrong:confused: . I have one and love it and it had a fair amount of "give" when applying it. To have it tear is very odd unless it had a nick in it from the factory or somebody else if bought used.
Have a chat with the seller and if that fails, contact Hogue Customer Service. I am sure they will stand behind their reputation.
Cheers

Theres a trick......you have to warm it up with your hands for 30 min before applying to gun.

I've had one rip at the corner as well. You just have to "massage" and rub it to warm it up...it will become very flexible, after all its only soft rubber.

Get it replaced and try the "trick"...you'll have no problems.

Are we talking about one of these things on my Browning BDM? If so, heat it with a hair dryer prior to putting it on. Regards, Richard :D

grip

Yeah, I bought a used one and while trying to put it on I ripped the bottom. I trimmed the tear with a razor blade and it turned out pretty good. The grip on my G17 2nd gen feels great, I'm anxious to try it at our next match in two weeks.

Soak it in hot water for a few minutes before trying to put it on and it will slide on remarkably easier.
Got one in the mail today from Brownell's and took your advice—worked like a dream! It makes my USP grip feel 100% more comfortable. I always liked the way the gun shot but I found the grip a weird combination of being too sharp and too slippery. Now hopefully it'll shoot a bit better too!
