Hogue SPS tactical stocks

deerfarmer:

I did that once. I had a sporter rifle in .223 that needed a stock right away for a groundhog hunt. Well, the only spare stock I had in the corner of the workshop was a varmint stock (varmint barrel channel just like your Hogue SPS Tac stock you are considering) and the skinny sporter barrel inside that varmint profile channel sure looks goofy. No doubt it was free floated and the barrel shot very well with all that airspace around it to vibrate in its own harmonics, but I still could not get over that gap around the sporter barrel. :D

Whatever works for you and your budget! Go for it!

thanks hungry - i was hoping someone out there might have tried it. That's kind of what I was afraid of ... I wouldn't be able to get over the goofiness either!

DeerFarmer- I happen to have an SPS short action stock with a heavy barrel channel. If you wanted to give it a try. I am sure we could work out a deal, say the price of shipping?
