I have just purchased a stag 10 in 308 and am trying to figure out a good optic for it. I have a nice 3-9x40 conquest with a Leupold mark 7 mount on my Benelli MR1. I wanted to take the scope and mount off and try it on my stag 10 for fit and if I like it. Is there a way I can remove it so it will retain its zero on the Benilli? They are both on picitini rails. Any feed back would be great

If you are removing the mount and optic as one piece, it should rezero "close" as long as you remember your settings on the scope. Putting it on the Stag will come with some adjustments to zero it for that rifle but if you adjust you scope completely up or down/ left or right and count how many "clicks" it takes to get there. Reversing that will always bring you within a click of your original zero. Any mount fluctuations aside of course.

If you have a way of attaching a laser and adjusting it to the same point as the optic, or at least measure the offset, you can do this easily. A rail mounted laser or boresighter pays for itself if you want to switch expensive optics without re-zeroing.
