Hello all...

Just thought I'd pass on some info of a great gunshop in my area. This is one of those "old fashioned" gunshops...it's located in a tobbacco kiln in the owner's backyard.

The owner, Fred Haydt, is a great old guy, who loves to talk guns. He has a VERY good selection of shotguns, hunting rifles, ammo, and misc. accessories (ie. stocks, sights, scopes & mounts, etc.)

He carries Browning, Benelli, Winchester, Remington, Sako, Tikka, and everything in between. Has LOTS of shotgun barrels too (...sorry, no Model 12's). Prices are good too (...depending on what you are looking for).

Currently has a bunch of different 410's ranging from OU's, SxS, pumps, semi's and singles.

He has LOTS of some of the harder-to-find ammo too (ie. 38-55, 6.5mm Swedish, 351, some other old lever-gun calibres).

He does take in trades of shotguns and rifles, but is not interested in military guns or handguns.

If you looking for something in a shotgun, rifle or accessory, give him a call, or if you are in the area, drop in and see him. Tell him that you got his info from Tyson.

Here's his info:

Don't need to call first. He is open 9-5 every day except Sunday. HEre's the directions:

403 to Hwy 24 South
Hwy 24 South to Regioal Road 4 (also known as Vanessa Road)
Take this road South for about 15km
When you get to Concession 10, turn right (it's a rought dirt road)
Travel another 75metres, and turn left. It's the first driveway.
Can't miss it...it's a house with a tobbacco kiln in the front yard.

Thanks for the info Tyson...

Havent seen you here for a while...

If you still talk to Ian, tell him to give me a call...

Philosopher hat on
You know, it's too bad many of us, (me too) get tied up and place too much emphasis on the great cheaper price.
We buy from the know nothing behind the counter at a big shop, who knows nothing about the firearm, cares nothing about the shooting sports and is just filling time until some better job comes along.
In the mean time, these smaller, knowledgeable little guys are rapidly going out of business, taking with them a lifetime or two experience.
All for the sake of $30.00 or $40.00
As I said, I am guilty of doing the same thing, but we should give this some thought and try to support these smaller shops that have the knowledge and the interest in our sport.

It is a great little place I used to live a short drive from there in Simcoe and they would always get what you were after. Glad somebody mentioned the shop thanks TYROMA !!!

Cat

Trust me cat, if you've been around here long enough,
you still wouldnt understand. :D Its an Ontario thing. Most of the guys in Ont Who have been here for a while know who Im talking about.

Tyroma has been around CGN for a long time, and was buddies with him.
Ian went by Gunnut on here, and alot of people knew him here. He put on alot of good shoots at his club until a bunch of IPDICKS had him shut down.
It burnt him so much, he got out of shooting all together.
The guy lives 20 minutes from me and I lost his number, and I havent found him in the phonebook.

Sorry, didnt mean to hyjack.
