Holes don't line up

Kind of wierd thing going on. I've had multiple grips installed and never had a problem until this one. Now I'm crushing my detent spring. The holes don't line up. See pics. Its almost like Magpul drilled the hole in the wrong place.


I'm open to all suggestions.

Oval out the hole in the grip with a drill or Dremel.

If other grips work, and this one doesn't, it's probably the grip. Is the hole in the magpul grip drilled or is it molded in when they make the grip?
Try it on someone else's gun.

^ This. I say drill and tap for a grub screw, cut the spring down, and put the detent in that way. Change grips without the spring flying across the room (or needing to line up as the case may be)...

I drilled the hole in the grip angled forward. Seems to work good. The spring is nice and happy even though its not straight. Lets see what happens long term. Thanks
